(Kansas City) – Camp Fire USA Interim CEO, Pamela Wilcox, has announced the appointment of veteran marketing and advertising consultant, Kirk Kirkpatrick, as the national organization’s new Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer.
Wilcox said, “Kirk connects with Camp Fire USA on so many levels—his attitude of getting in and getting things done, his extensive national media experience, his desire to apply it for such a worthy cause, and his excitement at strengthening a brand that so connects with his own family.”
Kirkpatrick has over 30 years experience marketing several of the world’s best-known consumer brands both here and internationally. “I’m extremely excited about this new challenge,” he said, “it’s an outstanding organization and the cause is very close to my heart.”
He obtained a B.A. in Mass Communications from California State University at Chico and his MBA from the University of Missouri at Kansas City. In addition to consulting, Kirkpatrick is a professor of marketing in the graduate business school at UMKC.
Camp Fire USA will be celebrating its 100-year anniversary in 2010, and Kirkpatrick will be working with Wilcox to coordinate and publicize the various events and festivities across the country, including the signature National Centennial Campfires which will happen simultaneously across the country in mid-summer.
One of the nation's leading not-for-profit youth development organizations, Camp Fire USA currently provides some 22 million program hours for children, youth and families.
